 ISAAC MIZRAHI FOR S. HARRIS
Isaac Mizrahi
Isaac Mizrahi

As a leader in the fashion world for more than 20 years, Isaac Mizrahi has always approached his designs with an irreverent sense of color, pattern and texture. It is this same bold perspective that is the essence behind his fabric collection for S. Harris.

"I’ve always dreamed of making fabrics. As a designer, I feel like I’ve spent half of my life looking at swatches and more swatches and always saying ‘Why isn’t there this or why doesn’t someone make that in this color?’" says Isaac. "And now I have this new freedom. I was able to finally create – what to me – is a collection of the fabrics I always wanted to see, but could never find. They are chic and stylish and fun…and if you can’t have fun in your home, well then you are doing something wrong."

In an effort to create a new design atmosphere, Isaac has left no style or sensibility untouched in his collection. Fabrics in classic Isaac colors, including shocking pinks, vibrant oranges and electric yellows, play alongside classic grays and browns. It is the ultimate juxtaposition of timeless style and whimsical appeal. His luxurious collection is enhanced with bold metallics, giant chintz patterns, and signature dots and plaids.

Through his collaboration with S. Harris, Isaac was inspired to create a collection that was wide ranging, yet tailored and cohesive. Pink painted canvas meets mirrored mercury Mylar. Black and white matelasse meets sheer gold. Only the mind of Isaac could make this eclectic-meets-classic-vision blend harmoniously. Patterns come to life in the form of stars, paisleys and floral prints. Quality was paramount for the designer, who included big, bold stripes and wood-grain impressions in his collection.

Mizrahi approached this latest adventure with the same joyous spirit he exudes when tackling any new project. His aim is to inspire and encourage.
